(Milford)– The Okoboji School Board meets in special session at 7:00 am Thursday (July 19th) to consider a purchase agreement for the land where the Okoboji Middle School stands in Arnolds Park.

The board held a public hearing earlier this month on an offer of the appraised amount of $1.1 million that was submitted by Imagine Iowa Great Lakes, the highway 71 corridor beautification group. Another offer of $1.15 million was also made at the same hearing. The board took no action at the time on either offer.

Superintendent Todd Abrahamson told KUOO news at the time the board is not obligated to accept the highest offer and that it reserves the right to consider what’s in the best interest for the community.

Neither entity that has submitted offers have announced exactly what plans they may have for the site.
