Plans for “Imagine Iowa Great Lakes” – the Okoboji beautification initiative – will be unveiled at a public meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 29 at the Pearson Lakes Art Center. All are welcome to attend and hear the vision for this highly anticipated project.

Imagine Iowa Great Lakes creates a strategic vision to guide beautification and enhancement efforts in the Okoboji area, specifically along the Highway 71 corridor. Imagine Iowa Great Lakes goals include:

• Improving the visual quality, environment, and safety,

• Strengthening the connection to the lakes,
• Enhancing the natural environment and
• Introducing elements and themes that evoke the spirit of the Iowa Great Lakes region.

Clive-based McClure Engineering Company will lead the conversation and present some of the initial designs to beautify the landscape. The purpose of the initiative is to enhance Lake Okoboji for the residents and visitors of today and tomorrow.
