This iconic pier renovation gives the area more prominence with a 5,500 square foot pedestrian plaza featuring a large fountain and reflecting pool with 3 stainless steel sail sculptures. A new stainless steel rail surrounds the pier with LED lighting. The precast concrete benches are accepted with Kebony. The plaza itself is a compass, oriented North/South, with a North Arrow and a map of the Iowa Great Lakes as decorative elements in the paving. Newly planted landscape beds are filled with ornamental grasses, perennials and native wild flowers.
